In the wire rod rolling mill, the process starts with the precisely alloyed liquid steel being turned into billets in the continuous castings plant using the casting with Submerged Entry Nozzle.
Billets are produced in the continuous castings plant with stopper-controlled immersion nozzle technology. In this system, which is defined as a casting with Submerged Entry Nozzle, clean steel production is ensured by ensuring flow control and re-oxidation control. In the Wire Rod Rolling Mill, more than 250 different qualities, alloyed and non-alloyed, from very low carbon grades to high carbon grades between 5.5 and 16 mm in size, are produced. Among the grades produced are thin wire, welding wire, tire wire, fasteners, PC strands and springs.
