Erdemir and İsdemir in Borsa Istanbul Sustainability Index

Erdemir and İsdemir, OYAK Mining Metallurgy Group companies, were included in the Sustainability Index composed of companies having high corporate sustainability performances traded on Borsa Istanbul (BIST).

Erdemir and İsdemir, companies of OYAK Mining Metallurgy Group, were included in the Borsa Istanbul Sustainability Index. Borsa İstanbul publishes the sustainability index, in which the environmental, social and corporate governance performance of companies are considered as the basis and are evaluated according to international sustainability criteria. For the BIST Sustainability Index, there is one index period per year, from November to October. This year, 56 companies entered the index, as a result of evaluation of 62 companies considered as suitable for evaluation. Companies were evaluated on the subjects of environment, biodiversity, climate change, human rights, corporate governance, occupational health and safety.

Aiming to create sustainability and permanent value in all its operations and being the first steel producer in the index, Erdemir has maintained its place in the index since November 2015. İsdemir, whose shares have been traded on the stock exchange since 2016, succeeded in entering the index in the period of November 2019-October 2020. Erdemir and İsdemir lead the industry as the first steel producers in the index.

OYAK Mining Metallurgy Group companies Erdemir and İsdemir have integrated the sustainability approach into all of their production journeys, and continue to be sensitive to the needs of today and future generations.
